October Wrap-Up (+TBR)

Here I am again! October has been a pretty good month and I’m trying to recover from my requesting fever. I’m getting better, I promise! November and December look way more relaxed and I’ve been watching tons of films and tv shows (hey, Black Mirror & The Exorcist!) these past few weeks so I’ve read a bit less.

In a past life, I was probably a tortured police detective with a dark and traumatic past. Right now, however, I'm just a twenty-something bookworm who loves to listen to old songs and watch 90s movies. I enjoy mystery and crime, southern coming of age stories and historical fiction set in the last century.

  1. Love your organization of this post! I just finished The Bird Tribunal and my review is up today. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts when you’ve read it. I’ve read Before the Fall and really liked it, especially the beginning, the author doesn’t waste time getting you involved in the story. Looks like some good upcoming reads

  2. As always, so many wonderful books. Tempted to go and get all of them :-)I have Love you to Death on my November TBR too. Then I note that you have two Safe With Me titles. I know the Slater one on your TBR, whioch one is the first one. I didn’t like Slater’s so much but I do hope that you enjoy it. Have a wonderful November. Cheers!

    1. Hahaha Diana, thanks for spotting my mistake. There’s only one Safe With Me, it was my last read (so it’s not definitely on my TBR XD). I read it quickly and thought it was entertaining but found it also a bit forgettable. I’m not going to write a review because I don’t have much to say. I think it can be enjoyable but I didn’t find it special.

Can’t wait to read Love you to death 😀 😀 😀

      1. I get what you mean about Safe With Me.In my case, I didn’t like the final chapters. So what do you do in this case? Was it an ARC?Do you post a review on NetGalley or how do you go about it? I can’t wait to read your review on The Murder Game and I hope Love You to Death will be a great read:-)

        1. I felt there was something missing. In the middle you can already figure out who the villain is and I don’t know, why was the MC so angry with Carla? It wasn’t her fault! And the neighbor doing that? XD Anyway, I liked it but didn’t love it. It was from Netgalley yes. so I wrote a mini-review there but I’m not going to publish it in the blog.

The Murder Game was so much fun! 😀

  3. Annie, how do you find the time? I need to get more organised, and to a degree rediscover my reading mojo. Any tips welcome – though my brain is bit addled at the minute, so they’ll definitely have to be in English! 🙂

    1. Hahaha In English then! Do you have a reading calendar? I list all the books I have to read (because they’re ARCs) in an Excel and the dates when I’ll publish the review. Then I always know what to read next and how many days I have 😂

      Definitely not spontaneous 😂😅

  4. A great reading month. I like that you called it a possible TBR, they can never be set in stone with all the new releases lol. I have Love You to Death to read also… I’m looking forward to that one!

    1. Hahaha Because I had to! They were all ARCs, I went crazy and Then I had like 60 to read lol XD

I’m hoping these next few months will be calmer! That is, if I CAN CONTROL MYSELF

  6. You read so much! I had the worst reading month and am jealous haha. I actually just started watching Black Mirror yesterday and have been binge watching because I can’t seem to stop watching. It’s very different from anything I’ve ever watched but I love the idea of it. The second episode reminded me of this book series I read once, the technology was very similar. Great wrap up! I hope you have as good a reading month in November as you did in October. 😊
