Book Tag: Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag

Ok, so I haven’t done a TAG in a looong time, basically because I went crazy requesting books and I had to post a ton of reviews. I still need to read a lot, but I wanted to write a different kind of post, so here it is 😁 I decided to do the Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag, thank you Amanda, Monique, Donna and Sammie.

» Best Book You’ve Read Yet in 2016

The best book I read this year is probably still 11/22/63 by Stephen King. However, that one came out in 2011 and I want to choose another one: Into The Light by Aleatha Romig. Fascinating and unputdownable. DON’T MISS IT.

» Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2016

In The Clearing by Robert Dugoni. I’m a big fan of his Tracy Crosswhite series and I loved this third installment. Have you read this series?

» New Release You Haven’t Read Yet But Want To

Behind Closed Doors by BA Paris. It just seems like my kind of book. Hopefully I can read it soon.

» Most Anticipated Release for the Second Half of the Year

I think it comes out at the beginning of 2017, but I really want to read The Dry by Jane Harper.

» Biggest Disappointment

I guess, Burnt Paper Sky by Gilly MacmillanI had high expectations and I didn’t find it special or particularly good.

» Biggest Surprise

Captura de pantalla 2016-06-29 a las 22.26.0929480865

Books I thought I wouldn’t like but ended up loving so much: The Last One by Alexandra Oliva & All The Ugly And Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood.

» Favorite New Author

Aleatha Romig, Lisa Hall, Heather Young, Tom Bale, Amy Gentry, Anna Quindlen, Catherine Ryan Howard, Shari LaPena, Paula Treick DeBoard, Laura McHugh… too many!

» Newest Fictional Crush

Adam from Distress Signals. He’d do ANYTHING for her girlfriend. And Oliver from Truly Madly Guilty. He was so sweet! I was also fascinated by Hamish Wolfe from Daisy In Chains, but that’s another question…

» Newest Favorite Character

Stella Montgomery from Into The Light.

» Book That Made You Cry

The Light Between Oceans by ML Stedman.

» Book That Made You Happy

Haven’t read any happy books in a while. In February I read a book called Bonita Faye… it was so fun!

» Favorite Book to Film Adaptation

Brooklyn_FilmPoster.jpg

I loved the movie Brooklyn SO MUCH. The book… not so much. Haven’t seen any others, but I’m dying to see The Light Between Oceans!

» Favorite Post You Have Done This Year

I started this blog only a couple months ago… I don’t have any favorite yet.

» What Books Do You Need to Read by the End of the Year

SO MANY. The following, for example.

I nominate whoever wants to do it. But especially Lauren, Asiya and Marcela, Ola, Victoria, Chrissi, Sophie, Jo and Jill.

In a past life, I was probably a tortured police detective with a dark and traumatic past. Right now, however, I'm just a twenty-something bookworm who loves listening to old songs and watching 90s movies. I enjoy mystery and crime, southern coming of age stories and historical fiction set in the last century.

  1. So many books on here I want to read! I’ve been dying to read 11/22/63, but it’s so LONG lol I love your TBR list for books you want to read before the year is over! Many are on my TBR as well. I have read June and I really enjoyed it!

  2. Annie, this is spooky. I was just flicking through my book journal and looked at the back which had a list of things such as favourite character, character you’d most like to date etc. I thought this would make the basis of a great blog and then up you pop with your tag challenge, with similar topics. I will take part though due to go away this week, but will have it done by end of month at latest. Thanks for thinking of me! ☺

  3. A great way to round-up the first half of the year – sorry to hear you didn’t like Burnt Paper Sky but that just goes to show no one book suits everyone. Here’s to a fantastic set of books for the second half of the year 🙂

  4. I could just take all your books and add them to my TBR. On your list, I have only read Behind Closed Doors which I read in February not sure which version it was. Into the Light and All the Ugly Wonderful Things sound pretty good, I will look for them. Great tag, loved all your answers!

  5. I already know there is no way I can read all the books I put on my list before the end of the year, but a girl can dream, haha! The Deviants, Dark Matter, and Behind Closed Doors are on my wishlist, I hope we both enjoy them! I’m definitely reading Into The Light!
